In each of these cases, there are features built in to the websites for Bridge Publications, New Era Publications and the bookstore sites of local Scientology Organizations which you should know about, that can let you make these links have the right behaviour based on your site.

Send them to the Correct Site for Your Organization:

There are individual websites that are in existence for every Scientology organization.  The link that you put onto your site or into your email determines where the books will be delivered from.   If you want the person to be able to go into their local Church of Scientology to pick up a book they order on the Internet, you want to make sure they order it from the right place.  

The part of the link that determines what publications organization or Church that the order goes to is the domain name — everything after the domain name is the same from org to org.  See this page for a list of all of the local church websites.

So, for example, if you see a book on the bridgepub.com website that you want someone to order  from the local church in Orange County, California, here’s what you’d do: 

Take this page, as an example, for the Beginning Scientology Books: 
http://www.bridgepub.com/materials/beginningbooksaudios.html

To have the person order from the Orange County Church, you’d change the “www.bridgepub.com” to “oc.goldenageofknowledge.net” — the site for Orange County.  Your link would then read: 

http://oc.goldenageofknowledge.net/materials/beginningbooksaudios.html

Changing the Language or Currency:

Sometimes you want to send someone to a site, and specifically let them see it in Spanish or French, or perhaps you want to make sure that the prices all display in US Dollars or Euro.  You do this using the Locale code. 

You’ll see a locale code like “en_US” at the end of all our links, if you go to the site.  The first part of the locale code is always the ISO 639 code for language, and the second is the standard ISO code for the country.  i.e.: 

en_US = English / America
de_AT = German / Austria
es_VE = Spanish / Venezuela

…etc.  So, if you want to show Spanish text, yet have all of the prices display in U.S. Dollars, you could specify a link like this:

http://www.bridgepub.com/?locale=es_US

With everyone flying through the Basics and having win after win, a fantastic way to disseminate, and also keep track of all your wins at the same time, is to keep a running Blog of your wins on the Basics & Congresses!

Here’s what to do:

1) Set up:  Set  yourself up a blog, if you don’t already have one.   Popular, easy, and free sites where you can set up a blog are Blogger and WordPress, though there are scores of others. 

2) Get an FSM Account: If you don’t already have one, set up an account using the Scientology Affiliate system.   What this does is set you up with your own “Yourname.fsm.org” address, which – when clicked – sends people to the Bridge Publications or New Era Publications websites, tagged with a tracking code.  Then, anyone who obtains materials from these sites — you get credit for!    If any of this doesn’t make sense to you, just see the hatting here.  And if that still doesn’t add up, contact us.

3) Start writing in your blog!   This is where you should just go wild, and type in any wins and realizations you have while going through the Basis.   If you want some ideas of how to present this, just have a look at this blog for some ideas.

4) Use your FSM Links:  When making your blog post, be sure to use your FSM link to refer people to the materials.   The blog referenced above has some examples of how to do this.

5) Let us know!  Once you get your blog up and running, drop a comment here with a link to your blog!  We’d all like to see it, and see what wins you’re having! 

There are at least 12,000 known casualties, but some of the worst-hit areas have yet to be contacted. The death toll will likely reach tens of thousands of people, with thousands more injured or homeless. There is a risk of landslides and this, coupled with the fact that a chemical storage plant was damaged and is now leaking dangerous chemicals, makes it all the more urgent for Volunteer Ministers to step forward now to help those who desperately need it and to prevent further damage.

Volunteer Ministers from all over the world must be gotten to the scene NOW, to bring help to those in the worst-affected areas. Not one minute can be wasted – one minute can mean someone’s life. These people are in desperate need. Trained Volunteer Ministers need to answer the call.

We need VMs on flights to the International airport in Chengdu within the next few hours. Contact the Volunteer Ministers International Office.  If you are unable to go yourself, your help is needed to sponsor another Volunteer Minister who can go.

On Sunday, Cyclone Nargis hit the nation of Myanmar (formerly known as Burma, a country between India and China) and killed in excess of 25,000 people so far. The original report from the military government of Myanmar was a death toll in the hundreds, but there was a belated admission that the cyclone had killed at least 30 times this figure – with 10,000 perished in just one city. The devastation of the area has left several hundred thousand people without shelter and clean water.

HELP IS NEEDED:

The people of this area need our help urgently. A whole team of Volunteer Ministers need to go to Myanmar to start bringing order and delivering the miracles of Volunteer Minister technology.

We cannot just stand back and watch. The situation requires decisive action NOW. We need responsible Volunteer Ministers to bring hope to these people.

Ever wanted to track how many people click through from the links you create? Want to know how many sales your links are generating? Now you can.

Google Analytics will also track the sales conversions from the traffic you send using it’s E-Commerce options!

If you aren’t familiar with Google Analytics, they have ample material on their site on how to use their service. It’s free and provides detailed reports.

To get started, simply do the following:

1. Create a Google Analytics Account, if you don’t already have one.
2. Take note of your account code, which starts with “UA-” and appears in the HTML that Google gives you to put on your web site.
3. Log into your Scientology Online Affiliate Account and create one or more affiliate codes.
4. Using the information provided on this site, create your links.
5. At the end of your links, include the URL parameter “gaacct=UA-XXXXXX-XX” where the Xs are replaced by your Google Analytics Code. For example, if your Google Analytics code is “UA-123456-AB” and you have a link to the Dianetics Book and Oakland Lectures, your link would read: “http://joe.fsm.org/items/dmsmh_oak.html?gaacct=UA-123456-AB”.

That’s it! Just append the “gaacct” parameter to your links and Google Analytics tracking is turned on for your tracking code for the remainder of the user’s browser session (meaning until he closes his browser or has a half an hour of inactivity).
